To keep up to date with resources & research using websites such as Diabetes UK, BHF, NHS Choices as required.

The Assistant is responsible for working under the direction of a Dietitian, to address the nutritional needs of service users.

The Assistant will develop competencies to carry out work that will support service users to eat well under the direction of the clinical dietitian.

The Assistant will support the eating disorder Dietitians by carrying out nutritional analysis using software designed for this, they may also support Dietitians to develop nutritional resources.

The Assistant will be based at Sheffield Eating Disorders Service and will work into the Day Service through supporting facilitation of groups and supporting mealtimes.

To assist the Dietitian to work with individual service users or groups of service users using a range of approaches.

To assist the dietitian to develop accessible information & other supportive materials/ resources for carers, families, other professionals.

To work with other registered Health Care Professionals to address the nutritional needs of service users under the direction of the dietitian.

To organise and participate in Dietetic Team meetings and in wider team meetings.

To form professional relationships with clients with eating disorders and to communicate with them in a way that respects their views, autonomy, and culture.

To deliver planned training and facilitate group-work for service users, carers, and other health care professionals under the direction of the dietitian e.g. Support meal planning sessions with the dietitian, support nutrition group with the dietitian.

To use Nutritics to analyse individual recipes and menus under the direction of the dietitian.
