The University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is offering a 12-month Clinical Fellow position in Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery within the South West Cleft Service. The role is intended for senior trainees in Plastic Surgery, ENT, or Maxillofacial Surgery who have completed their higher surgical training and passed relevant examinations. The fellowship will provide comprehensive exposure to all facets of cleft care, including attendance at multidisciplinary clinics and operative surgery at both The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and The Bristol Royal Infirmary, enabling the Fellow to develop the necessary skills for independent practice as a consultant cleft surgeon.

Additionally, the Fellow will participate in research with the Cleft Collective, dedicating 1.5 days per week to a designated research project. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical and academic background in cleft surgery, and overseas applicants must possess equivalent experience and qualifications.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
