Infection Prevention Nurse/Practitioner - 22.5 hours per week
The Infection prevention and control team are hiring an Infection Prevention Nurse/Practitioner. As a member of the Integrated Care Trust Infection Prevention Team the post holder will support the team in all aspects of health care associated infection and preventative activity and will support clinical colleagues in the identification and management of patients at particular risk of infection and those presenting as a potential risk to others.
Reviews current identified community hotspots to enable measures to minimise the spread of infection
Facilitates compliance to standard and transmission-based infection prevention precautions and participates in the delivery of education and auditing.
Follows up any incidents with identified ongoing community risks
Works closely with IPCT and acts on any clinical information shared to manage community incidents and outbreaks
Participates in team meetings and contributes to improvement strategies and promotional events.
Ensures actions from audit and review are implemented and monitored.
