The Maintenance Plumber at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust will be a vital part of the building maintenance team, responsible for plumbing and related tasks within the hospital. Candidates should ideally have completed an apprenticeship, although non-time served applicants may be considered if they meet job criteria. The role includes working independently on plumbing emergencies, performing planned maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while meeting hospital standards for appearance and conduct. The plumber will also provide training support to trainees and maintenance assistants, and must be comfortable working in confined spaces and various hospital environments.

Responsibilities encompass diagnosing and repairing plumbing and water systems, including installation and maintenance of sanitary ware, drainage, and sewage systems. The role requires proficiency in operating a computer-based building management system and understanding the operation of high temperature hot water and steam heating systems. Additionally, the Maintenance Plumber will engage in ongoing training to keep skills updated, participate in governance activities to uphold high standards, and assist colleagues in emergencies.
