HCA Healthcare UK is seeking a Chief Engineer for their Primary Care Team in London, primarily responsible for providing exceptional building maintenance services. This full-time, site-based role involves addressing reactive, project, and scheduled maintenance work, including tasks such as electrical work, basic carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs. The Chief Engineer will manage incoming maintenance requests, prioritize workloads, and offer technical guidance, while also collaborating with the Operations Administrator and Facilities Manager on planning, cost control, and management of third-party contractors.
In addition to overseeing direct reports and supervising their tasks, the Chief Engineer will play a key role in the opening of new clinics, ensuring they are prepared for clinical use. The position requires effective communication with management regarding system deficiencies and contribution to strategic planning for replacements and repairs. The role typically operates Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 AM, with the occasional need for weekend coverage.

Location: This role is 100% site based, at sites within London, while also occasionally providing maintenance for our office premises and GP's across the UK.
Full Time: 40 hours per week

Were looking for a Chief Engineer to join our Primary Care Team, This role is vital inensuring a first class building maintenance service, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.
- General DIY and maintenance including electrical, basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, painting and decorating
- To respond to, and complete incoming works logged on the internal computerised maintenance management system prioritising your workload, responding quickly to emergencies. Assessing jobs and devising a plan of action to complete.

- To advise on deficiencies and contribute to strategic planning of replacement/repair

- Work with the Operations Administrator on review of the Facilities Log and planning actions and 3rd party contractor job assignment
- Support the Facilities Manager on cost control and validation of quotation acceptance.
- Support the opening of new clinics by leading teams with the process of getting a new clinic ready for clinical use.
- To advise management on deficiencies in system and contribute to strategic planning of replacement/repair.
