For further information for this vacancy please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Multidisciplinary community team based at Whitby Hospital.
This role offers the opportunity to provide planned Occupational Therapy to a varied caseload of patients, as well as the opportunity to develop skills to be able to support the Urgent Community Response service in Whitby. You would be joining an integrated community team who work across traditional professional boundaries for the benefit of their patients, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and promoting independence.
This post offers the chance to consolidate knowledge and develop OT specific and generic skills that are transferable across teams, and service user groups. We are looking for someone who will take the opportunities afforded by this, and who can foster effective working relationships with professionals and with service users.
The post-holder will be expected to assess and deliver evidence-based OT interventions, to facilitate wellbeing, and optimise independent functioning in self-care, productivity and leisure activities, from an occupational perspective.
Interventions take place in home environments and community settings with flexibility of working required to meet service user needs.
There may be an expectation to be involved in projects or service developments happening within teams, allowing the post-holder to develop their skills within this area.
You will have access to supervision, CPD networks and the Trust Preceptorship programme, which dovetails well with more specific OT preceptorship requirements. Training is supported, together with leadership development programmes. We are committed to undergraduate student education, with occupational therapists encouraged after a reasonable period, to undertake the SLiP training.
