Cartmel Surgery in Grange-over-Sands is seeking a Practice Manager to join the team in preparation for the current manager's retirement in Spring/Summer 2025. The practice serves a rural patient base of 3,300, operates with one GP and two salaried GPs, and also trains GP Registrars, FY2s, and Medical Students. The ideal candidate should possess strong people management, finance, and business management skills, with a preference for prior NHS experience. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing clinical staff, handling finances and supplies, coordinating meetings, and ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining high-quality patient care.

The Practice Manager will work closely with the doctor in charge to develop strategic business initiatives, implement effective workplace procedures, and address community health needs. The position requires a commitment of 32 hours per week, with a salary based on experience, participation in the NHS Pension scheme, and five weeks of holiday. Responsibilities include human resources management, budget oversight, control of medication supplies, patient records administration, and active participation in practice and network meetings.
