The Hospice in the Weald is seeking an experienced Lead Counsellor to oversee a team of staff and volunteer counsellors providing bereavement and pre-bereavement support. This part-time position (22.5 hours per week) requires an organized, skilled, and compassionate individual to manage a caseload while delivering essential counseling services to patients, families, and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Counselling and Support Service Team, ensuring high standards of service aligned with professional guidelines.
  • Provide face-to-face counseling, assess psychological needs, and manage referrals effectively.
  • Mentor and support counselling staff and volunteers, including recruitment and training.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teamwork and collaborate with other health professionals to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain BACP accreditation and oversee documentation and service quality.
