The role of Advanced Dietitian for Children and Young Peoples (CYP) inpatients at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust, based at the Darwin Centre, involves providing specialist dietetic services to young patients with eating disorders. This full-time position, which supports hybrid working, requires an experienced and dynamic dietitian to work closely within a multi-disciplinary team, developing key policies and individual management plans that address complex dietary issues and nutritional risks. Responsibilities include leading dietary management, enhancing staff education, conducting comprehensive assessments, and ensuring optimal treatment outcomes while minimizing risks associated with eating disorders.

Additionally, the post holder will provide clinical supervision to junior staff and students, engage in research and quality audits, and communicate effectively with patients and their families. The role supports the mental health and well-being of young people, emphasizing collaboration with healthcare professionals and the development of training programs to improve dietary care within the inpatient setting. Regular supervision and opportunities for professional development are integral to this role, as well as the requirement to stay updated on best practices in the field.
