We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Palliative Medicine Specialty Doctor to join the North Wales specialist palliative care team.
This is a permanent specialty doctor role within the Palliative Medicine department. The appointee should have previous general medical experience and will work with the senior medical staff and clinical nurse specialists as part of the Specialist Palliative Care Team, to support both community and hospital inpatient services in North West Wales. This is a part-time position, of six sessions per week, based with the team in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.
Opportunities exist for those keen to pursue research and education/teaching interests via well-established links with Bangor University.
The appointee will provide medical cover and day to day clinical advice on patient management to colleagues, including closely supporting the Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Hospice at Home nursing teams in the West Area. The appointee will have the support of the consultants and senior specialty doctor, and potentially a specialty trainee in palliative medicine on rotation.
The post holder will be appointed on the Terms and Conditions of the Welsh SAS Contract. The sessions will include both direct clinical care and supporting professional activities (SPA). This timetable and responsibilities can change with full discussion and agreement of the appointee and depending on the future local direction of services.
