An exciting opportunity to join the Postgraduate Dental team in the South West as Training Programme Director (TPD) in ST4 Orthodontics (post CCST). The role of Training Programme Director is to work with and support the Postgraduate Dean and Associate Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions within their specialty, aligned to the NHS England mandate. The Training Programme Director will ensure that both national standards and also guidelines and standards established within the South West are met.
They will work with the Postgraduate Dean to produce dentists who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.
The TPD role will cover both the South West and Thames Valley/Wessex regions.
This role attracts funding in recognition of the time that will be required for the duties of a TPD and is in line with other Dental TPD roles within the South West. This particular role carries 2 hours (0.5 sessions) per week of educational management contributions.
The Programme Director will ensure that both national standards, determined by the Royal College, GDC and guidelines and standards established within the South West are met.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of dental training across the region and who will also have strong leadership and communication skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.
