Band Doctor - other: £42,008 to £49,909 a year PA PR  FIXED TERM 
The Major Trauma Ward receives adult patients directly from Trauma Units within our network, along side admissions from our Emergency Department.

As an Adult Major Trauma Centre (MTC) the ED receives critically injured patients from across Hull and the East Riding, as well as receiving ill and injured personnel from offshore facilities. Our new helipad has been purpose designed to accommodate all helicopters in use for civilian operations.

As a Paediatric Major Trauma Unit, we are expected to receive and stabilise any paediatric patient who has sustained major trauma and is either in need of time critical interventions or is further than 60 minutes from the nearest paediatric major trauma centre in Sheffield or Leeds.

The Major Trauma Ward receives adult patients directly from Trauma Units within our network, along side admissions from our Emergency Department. There are daily MDT Board rounds followed by the ward round. The Major Trauma ward is supported by a team of 12 Major trauma consultants, 4 Major trauma coordinators, and a geriatrician with a special interest in trauma. Within the Major trauma ward there are specific beds set aside for the management of silver trauma patients

Major trauma is part of the Major Trauma network and rehabilitation Care Group.

This appointment is for a Clinical Fellow in Major Trauma, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. 80:20 split between clinical duties and supervised project work. This post is offered for Full Time and Less than Full Time appointments. The timetable will include working a 24-hour shift pattern to include weekends, night duty and cover provision. The post would suit someone who has completed foundation training but wants to gain more experience prior to applying for specialist training or are considering a change in speciality. The benefit of this role is that there is pastoral and educational support. We can also support developing your application for specialty training. It is intended that the appointees will work at a level suitable from their previous experience.
