The Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Vascular Access Lead Nurse to join their IV access team, serving across multiple sites in Liverpool. This pivotal role involves acting as the deputy manager for the IV Access Team and requires extensive expertise in placing and managing vascular access devices. The successful candidate will provide leadership in delivering a high-quality, patient-centered service, develop specialist policies, manage the service’s workflow, and offer education and training for clinical teams. Responsibilities also include monitoring service outcomes, coordinating treatment sessions, and overseeing both clinical and managerial aspects of the vascular access service to ensure effective delivery and adherence to safety guidelines.

The Lead Nurse will be integral in fostering a collaborative environment, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining communication with multidisciplinary teams. They will be responsible for clinical governance, the implementation of evidence-based practices, and the analysis of service delivery data. Additionally, the role encompasses mentoring other healthcare professionals, participating in recruitment, and ensuring that the team meets professional standards and addresses patient needs efficiently.
