The Reception team receive, administrate, and direct patients & relatives in accessing the appropriate area or service in a courteous, efficient and effective way.


Outpatients Receptionist - Band 2 - working 16 hours per week.

The hours for this post will be Fridays and Saturdays inc. Bank holidays. Friday shifts will alternate between 7am to 3pm or 11am to 7pm. Saturday's shift will be 7am to 3pm. The successful candidate must be able to support the flexibility of the rota and be able to work the agreed working pattern.

We are looking to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our busy team in providing a professional and effective Reception and Clerical service for the Trusts Outpatients Service.

This post will predominantly work on the Day Surgery & Endoscopy Unit Reception where patients will come into hospital, have an operation or procedure, recover, and go home on the same day. The day surgery team currently undertake many different procedures across different specialties including endoscopy, ENT (ear, nose and throat), general surgery, gynaecology, oral and maxillofacial, orthopaedics, urology and vascular. Computer literacy is essential as you will be expected to input and extract information from various Trust Patient Administrative Systems. Please note this role will also require physical effort at times when preparing and managing patients Medical Records.

To provide an efficient Reception service maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality at all times.

The successful candidate will have good communication & customer service skills, be friendly and caring whilst maintaining a professional approach, and be able to evidence the ability to ensure accuracy and attention to detail at all times.

An appreciation and understanding of the confidential nature of the work is essential. You should be able to work as part of a very busy team and on your own initiative.
