We are actively recruiting experienced Registered Nurses to the Emergency Department at LUHFT. We believe in excellent patient care and would like to recruit dynamic individuals who believe in our trust values and will ensure that every patient receives gold standard care.
The work-load throughout the department is very varied and interesting with no two days being the same. The successful candidate have at least 12 months experience working as an RN, must be dynamic, possess excellent communication skills, and have a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork.
As a Band 5 Nurse you will be offered a comprehensive development package including a period of supernumerary, training and education and a Preceptorship programme. You will have access to the departmental education team and have the opportunity to develop and progress your career as you work towards the RCN Level 1 and Level 2 competencies.
You will have the opportunity to work in all the areas of the Emergency Department. The Aintree site is the Major Trauma Centre for the region.
Participate in maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all patients and carers and maintain agreed standards of nursing care.
Determines nursing priorities and plans patient care. Informs the nurse in charge when changes in circumstances may affect patient care.
Maintain nursing records in accordance with the NMC and Trust Guidelines.
Maintain and improve quality of patient care through contribution to the development of Essence of Care and clinical benchmarking within the unit.
Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients.
Providing information and support to patients/carers, ensuring all those involved in the care are aware of changes in the patient's condition.
Assist in the safe custody, checking and administration of drugs
To develop clinical knowledge and skills to care for acutely ill patients admitted via both planned and unplanned routes.
To undertake expanded practice, under supervision, in order to optimise patient care and in accordance with ward/department and Trust policies
Involve patients and carers in the planning and delivering of care.
Ensure effective lines of communication within the ward/department multidisciplinary team.
