An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Ultrasonographer to join the Imaging department as the modality lead.

This is a Part time role for 15 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within a multi-modality imaging department.
  • A wide general radiographic background with expertise in one or more specialised area.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare service sector and the systems and processes used.
  • Aware of College of Radiographers and HCPC Code of Conduct / Accountability

Duties of this role include:

  • Overseeing day to day clinical service delivery, with a high degree of professionalism; ensuring effective deployment of staff and provision of a high quality, responsive, patient focused service.
  • To ensure that high quality, responsive Diagnostic Imaging services are delivered to meet the needs of all customers and the business.
  • To maintain ongoing dialogue with Consultant Radiologists on all clinical aspects of Imaging service delivery and support the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) in ensuring sessional use is maximised.
  • To support the DCS by attending meetings (minimum annual) with Radiologists to discuss clinical and operational issues.

  • You oversee day-to-day clinical service delivery, with a high degree of professionalism, ensuring effective deployment of staff and provision of a high quality, responsive, patient focused service.
  • You maintain proactive relationships with Consultant Radiologists on all clinical aspects of Imaging service delivery and support the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) / Clinical Services Manager for Imaging (CSM) in ensuring the radiologist workforce is managed efficiently and maximised to full potential.
  • You support the CSM for Imagng / DCS by attending any relevant meetings with Consultant Radiologists to discuss any clinical and operational issues.
  • You build and maintain excellent multi-disciplinary consultant relations, ensuring clinical service delivery meets clinical requirements.
  • You will be responsible for supporting the CSM for Imaging / DCS with achieving regulatory compliance of imaging services within your hospital.
  • You monitor all revenue capture procedures and ensure that charges are completed, checked and dispatched in a timely manner.
  • You will comply with all Policies, SOP's and WI's relevant to your role and proactively manage the team to ensure their compliance is achieved also.
  • You will ensure that a robust governance framework is embedded within the department, focusing on delivering evidence based practice, patient safety, quality and patient-centered care.
  • You conduct radiographic examinations as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi professional team in line with professional & departmental standards.
  • You participate in supervision, training and peer review within your area of competence / expertise.
  • You will work closely with the appointed RPS and RPA/MPE for the service to ensure that the imaging department complies with all statutory regulations.
  • You comply with all relevant mandatory and role-specific training as defined within Circle Health Group's mandatory training matrix.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

  • Previous experience of working within the acute and / or independent healthcare sector in a Senior Radiographer or Imaging Lead / Manager role.
  • Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers and situations.
  • A Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within a multi-modality imaging department.
  • A wide general radiographic background with expertise in one or more specialised areas.
  • Clinical Imaging IT systems - Familiarity with PACS, RIS, IEP and Electronic Patient Records (EPR).
  • Knowledge of the healthcare service sector and the systems and processes used.
  • Adherence to The Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR) Code of Professional Conduct and meet the HCPC's Standards of Proficiency for Radiographers.
  • Knowledge of radiation regulations; IR(ME)R & Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR.)
