Job Purpose

The nurse will assist and work independently within the wound clinic based service, alongside the Tissue Viability Team. The nurse will actively contribute to the management of complex wounds, assessing and treating patients following best-practice guidance. The nurse will deliver training, formally or informally on all aspects of wound care to patients, carers and to all staff groups and multidisciplinary team.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Mainstream Health Providers: TVN Service, GPs, Community Nurses, Practice Nurses, Hospital Nurses, Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Dietitian, Hospital Consultants, Vascular Consultants, Dermatology Consultants, Local Universities

To work within the service with agreed Trust protocols and guidelines.
To manage own workload.
To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, sharing in the responsibility for the provision of 7 day, 24 hour care where this is required.
To promote and adhere to the principles and practice of clinical governance and audit.
To demonstrate effective multidisciplinary team working and acknowledge the role of individual team members, ensuring that expertise is seen as a resource within the team and the Trust.
