We are looking for enthusiastic clinical pharmacists to join our large and friendly team delivering the diverse pharmacy service within one of the country's largest teaching trusts.
As part of the senior rotational programme you will get to provide complex, pharmaceutical care for patients, optimising their medicines and ensuring the safe & effective transfer of care. You will have mentoring support of specialist pharmacists, and operational ward based support from medicines management technicians.

This post is part of our rotational programme involving 12-month long rotations aimed at building your clinical knowledge and skills, as well as maximising your integration with the multi-disciplinary teams. The current rotational gaps are within the City medicine specialty and surgery at QMC including the major trauma unit and neurology. You would work either within the City medicine specialty or in the surgery specialty at QMC until September 2026. The City medicine specialty will include a renal/cardiology rotation and transfer of care unit (TOCU)/respiratory rotation.
From September 2026 you will rotate around a wide range of specialist areas, such as admissions, oncology, paediatrics, antimicrobials & ePMA.
You will also get the opportunity to line manage and mentor the junior pharmacists within the department and MPharm students from the University of Nottingham, building your portfolio further.

To partake in clinical pharmacy duties ensuring core clinical pharmacy activities are undertaken in the relevant clinical specialties. This includes a prescribing role when qualified
Leadership, management and directorate/service support roles
To line manage and support more junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the medical team specialties
To take full part in the 7 day shifted rota and bank holidays duties
We operate a 7day working model; the post-holder will contribute to the senior on-call rota providing back-up support to the on-call pharmacist. All of our dispensaries are pharmacist-free and technician led, so there aren't any operational commitments; ePMA is also being rolled out within the Trust.
Whilst this post is commissioned to be full time (equivalent of 37.5 hours per week) the service would welcome applications from those wanting a better work life balance.
