East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a fixed-term, whole-time or part-time Locum Consultant Geriatrician for their Acute Geriatric service, primarily based at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate. The role is open to candidates with varying levels of experience, including those newly qualified or those with established careers. The position includes flexibility in the job plan, allowing for a balance of direct clinical care and supporting activities, with the possibility of additional sessions for those wishing to work over 40 hours per week. Successful candidates will also receive administrative support and a £3,000 settling-in payment.

The Consultant will be responsible for the care of their patients and will collaborate with Clinical Directors and Care Group Management on various organisational matters. They will work in a team alongside other Geriatricians and will participate in on-call duties, which include a 1:8 weekday and a 1:10 weekend commitment. The role encompasses general medical and rehabilitation duties, as well as administrative tasks, management involvement, and committee work, with a focus on maintaining high standards of patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
