The role of Specialist Occupational Therapist at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in Huyton is a fixed-term, 12-month position for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist focused on delivering high-quality care for both adults and children in the community. Responsibilities include conducting assessments for equipment and adaptations to enhance the independence and safety of service users with long-term complex conditions, while working autonomously and collaboratively within a skilled team. The position requires flexibility in working hours and includes community visits as well as some remote work.

The postholder will utilize their specialist knowledge to contribute to the organisation, development, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Service, engaging in multidisciplinary collaboration and case coordination. This role also involves providing education and support for clients' families and caregivers, promoting positive inter-agency working, and participating in clinical supervision and case load management to uphold care standards. Additionally, the role requires ongoing professional development and contribution to the creation of effective integrated care pathways.
