The University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician for the Medicines Optimisation role at The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. The successful candidate will join a large team of over 150 Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant Technical Officers, benefiting from a supportive induction, extensive training, and opportunities for professional development. There are positions available for both Band 4 and Band 5 technicians, including opportunities for pre-registration candidates due to qualify in 2025. The role offers flexible working options, including full-time, part-time, or bank work, and involves rotations across various medical specialties such as Acute and General Medicine, trauma surgery, and respiratory care.

In this position, the pharmacy technician will engage in medicine management services, which include checking patients' own medications, taking drug histories, counseling, and assisting with discharges, as well as working in dispensaries to label, dispense, and check prescriptions. Comprehensive in-house training will be provided, with support from experienced facilitators to help achieve professional qualifications. Ideal candidates should possess strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to teamwork and professional development.
