The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Neonatal Special Care Coordinator Sister/Charge Nurse for its established Neonatal Service. The role is centered on providing high-quality care to over 10,000 babies each year, focusing on coordination and organisation of care in the Special Care and Transitional Care units at Heartlands Hospital. The successful candidate will not only oversee daily operations in collaboration with the nurse in charge but will also support and nurture team members, delivering constructive feedback and promoting professional development.

Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to clinical policies, maintaining safe practice, coordinating care flow, and addressing safeguarding concerns. The Coordinator will need to exhibit exceptional communication skills, be a positive role model, and foster family-integrated care by engaging with patients' families. The position requires a motivated professional with a Critical Care qualification, who is keen on driving positive change, supporting colleagues, and maintaining their own clinical skills through direct involvement in patient care when necessary.
