The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Band 7/8a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join the Respiratory Medicine team at the Heartlands site. This role offers the opportunity to deliver an innovative, clinically focused pharmacy service while working within a supportive specialist team. The successful candidate will engage in patient-facing responsibilities, understanding treatment pathways for conditions such as COPD, Bronchiectasis, Asthma, and ILD. There is a structured development program in place that allows for progression from a Senior Support Pharmacist (band 7) to a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (band 8a), along with access to post-graduate training, non-medical prescribing support, and various health and wellbeing initiatives.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a commitment to improving patient care through effective medication management. The role involves participation in Cost Improvement Programs and Quality Improvement Projects, with opportunities to collaborate within a large pharmacy team that spans multiple sites. Those who are new to this specialisation will be supported to gain essential skills and knowledge, while experienced pharmacists can expect to further develop their expertise in the respiratory field.
