We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated clinician to join our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). You will be responsible for the care of patients that access this service. The service will be delivered by GPs and primary care ACPs.
The UTC is open 7 days a week from 0900 am to 10 pm and is co-located to Stepping Hill emergency Department.
You will assist in the development of an integrated approach to the delivery of patient care across the UTC and you will work in partnership with all relevant stakeholders.
The multi-disciplinary team comprises of Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Senior Nurses.
To act as an autonomous clinician providing clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment (where appropriate), for patients that attend the UTC, either walk in patients or those referred from other stakeholders such as the NHS 111.
Evaluate clinical information from history and examination and initiate appropriate treatment, referral, or discharge.
Refer patients to other appropriate care settings, where necessary
Prescribe, supply and / or administer medication and treatments according to agreed protocols, within scope of competence.
To be aware of and work within the performance framework for the UTC service (key performance indicators) Clinical Quality Commission and the Quality Requirements for UTC.
To empower service users to access the service through the most appropriate means and to encourage self-care where clinically appropriate.
To provide clinical support to the UTC.
The post-holder will work with other GP appointees and ACPs to manage a clinically effective Urgent Treatment Centre. The post-holder will participate in clinical audit and service evaluation.
To take clinical responsibility for themselves and to provide assistance and supervision to other health professionals, particularly ACPs as required.
To assist in the maintenance of clinical standards to share in the efficient running of the service.
To be aware of local, regional and national policies which affect the delivery of health and social care.
The post-holder will be an experienced General Practitioner with a background in either a Walk in Centre or Urgent Treatment Centre, supporting the multi-disciplinary assessment of patients presenting to the service.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
