We are looking for a part-time Receptionist for 20 hours per week to join our patient orientated and friendly team. The practice aims to deliver very high standards of care and service to its patients, and you will be a key member of our front of house team, often being the first contact for our patients.
This is a varied, rewarding and challenging role which will suit people who enjoy working in a busy environment with lots of patient contact (both face to face and on the telephone).
You should be comfortable working with IT systems, be accurate in your work, have a calm nature, enjoy working as part of a team, be keen to learn new skills, have a friendly and caring approach, and keep a sense of humour.
To provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients and the practice team.
To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis. To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the partners and patients
Book in, amend and cancel patient appointment in line with practice appointments procedures.
Ensure that patients without appointments but who need 'urgent consultations are booked into appropriate slots.

Deal with all general enquiries & explain procedures
Process new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
Management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately, timely and efficiently
Take information from patients regarding transport requirements and add this to the Patient Transport System
Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Open and direct post
Photocopy documentation as required
Take details of change of details, amend on Emis and notify the secretaries of patients out of the practice area.
Charging patients the appropriate amount for private work, providing a receipt to the patient
Ensure blood forms are ready for the phlebotomy clinic
Greet visitors ensuring that all visitors sign in and direct them to the appropriate person
Ensure clinical rooms are set for the beginning of each clinic
Open and close the surgery as per the procedure
Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Provide cover for reception during staff absences
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the partners or management team
