Band 4: £26,530 to £29,114 a year per annum  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is at the leading edge of developments in orthopaedics and provides highly specialised care for an international, national, and regional population. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join our dynamic physiotherapy outpatient department, working alongside qualified Physiotherapists and our existing team of therapy support staff.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team. The role will involve supporting the qualified staff in the rehabilitation of patients following orthopaedic surgery, or with musculoskeletal conditions, with a large involvement in return to sports rehabilitation.

Applicants must have suitable experience and relevant qualifications for the role. You must have the ability to work with your own initiative and to manage your time effectively. As a major part of the role will include leading rehabilitation classes and formulating individualised exercise programmes for patients, excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.

Support and training will be offered where required, and we have a comprehensive in-service training programme for all outpatient staff.

Flexible working hours apply - the physiotherapy outpatient and gymnasium services operate extended hours, and you may be required to work at weekends.


JOB PURPOSE

-To perform routine assessment of patients requiring therapy intervention, as directed by a qualified Physiotherapist (PT).

-To independently formulate, implement and progress treatment programmes for individual clients and groups, assessing progress and modifying to achieve set goals.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1 To be responsible for own caseload providing treatment to patients with a variety of conditions which require therapy intervention, as delegated by a qualified physiotherapist.

2 To assess patient progress and modify treatment programmes as necessary within the physiotherapy outpatient department

3 To lead designated rehabilitation classes within the gymnasium.
