An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Outpatient Administrator for the Clinical Genetics Service working at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust based at the City Hospital Campus.
Working as part of the outpatient team the role will involve providing high quality admin and clerical support. The post holder will need to use their initiative and skills to develop processes and ensure the effective provision of a quality service.
The successful candidate will be part of a weekly rotation, and is expected to work until 5pm at least twice a week to cover service hours. Ideal hours for this role would be Monday-Thursday 9-5pm and Friday 8-4pm.
The role demands the ability to handle high-pressure situations, promptly address inquiries from relatives, external hospitals, or colleagues, while strictly adhering to Trust confidentiality guidelines. The successful candidate should maintain a consistently confident, professional, and courteous demeanor when interacting with patients and other professionals in the course of their daily duties. Proficiency in understanding and accurately conveying both verbal and written information is crucial, along with the capability to remain composed under pressure.
Furthermore, the candidate is expected to be a cooperative team member, contributing to the efficient functioning of a busy department.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable. You will have an understanding of outpatient appointment booking, managing referrals and clinic booking. You will also be able to prioritise your workload with constantly changing demands, meet agreed deadlines and use your own initiative. This includes ensuring referrals are dealt with in a timely manner and dealing with enquiries from patients and clinicians both in person, email and on the phone.
