FAMILY INTENSIVE CARE UNIT NEONATAL NHS ROLE MODEL
The role of Band 6 Bank Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey involves providing expert care for critically ill neonates within a leading Level 3 NICU. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, implementing and evaluating care programs, and promoting high-quality nursing standards. The position includes working as a Shift Leader, mentoring Band 5 nurses, and potentially managing the unit in the absence of senior staff.

Nurses will engage in a family-integrated care approach within an innovative environment, covering shifts as part of a 7-day operational model. Additionally, they may take responsibility for specific areas of clinical practice, such as infection control and health and safety. There is an opportunity for rotation onto the Surrey and Sussex Transfer Service upon completion of requisite competencies.
