£96,990 to £107,155 a year per annum pro rata  FIXED TERM 

The postholder will be expected to engage in their own continuing professional development and to provide continuing dental education for other staff.

All clinical staff are accountable and responsible for their own clinical competence and should limit their activity to that which is deemed to be within their competence.

The appointee will be expected to liaise with colleagues in Oral Surgery as well as other specialties at LUDH and the Trust.

To participate in daytime emergency cover and provision of acute surgical procedures as required, in conjunction with other senior clinicians.

To participate in the minor oral surgery service under local anaesthesia, and conscious sedation, including daytime emergency cover.

To perform day case procedures under general anaesthesia

The appointment is with Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is offered as a part-time post (5 programmed activities), on a fixed term basis. The post is that of Specialist in Oral Surgery, based at Liverpool University Dental Hospital.

The clinical duties of the Specialist will be:

To participate in daytime emergency cover and provision of acute surgical procedures as required, in conjunction with other senior clinicians.

To participate in the minor oral surgery service under local anaesthesia, and conscious sedation, including daytime emergency cover.

To perform day case procedures under general anaesthesia

To participate in the training and continuing education of junior hospital staff.

Together with the consultants and specialists, to have continuing responsibility for the care of patients.

To participate in the teaching of undergraduate dental students
