The role involves supporting laboratory operations by handling and processing patient samples, including sorting, labeling, and prioritizing urgent specimens. Key responsibilities include data entry into the laboratory information management system, addressing queries about mislabeled or lost samples, and providing assistance to the reception team. The position also includes aliquoting samples and reagents, cleaning equipment, monitoring environmental conditions, and assisting with administrative tasks when needed.

Candidates should have at least two GCSEs (Maths, English, Science), computer proficiency, and ideally NVQ Level 2 in Clinical Laboratory Support. Previous laboratory experience, especially within the NHS, is preferred. The role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Flexibility in working hours is necessary to meet the service needs, and adherence to the Trust values is essential.
