Working closely with GP colleagues, the post-holder will deliver several Treatment Room clinics providing assessment; treatment; screening; health education services and advice to patients including

Wound management

Administering a vaccinations and immunisations.

Contraception, STI checks and advice and cervical screening.

As part of the clinical team, you will participate in clinical supervision; ongoing CPD; team and practice meetings as well as contributing to projects and audits.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to provide excellent patient care; assessing patient needs and planning, delivering and evaluating care provision. They will provide a professional service performing a range of relevant treatment room activities without direct supervision and providing support to the GPs. Treatment room experience essential.


General Clinical

  • To provide high quality patient care
  • Participate in setting standards for care and auditing clinical outcomes.
  • Promote & participate in maintaining a safe comfortable & therapeutic environment.
  • Participate in developing strategies and implementing health promotion programmes for clients and carers and facilitate screening clinics.
  • Take responsibility for the safe storage and administration of drugs and equipment.
  • Provide information, advice and support to patients face to face and via the telephone.
  • Involved in team discussions to ensure best practice.

  • Holiday Vaccination Clinic

Treatment Room Clinical Skills required

  • Venepuncture

  • Assistance in Minor Surgery
  • Infection control management of equipment
  • Immunisation and Vaccine administration
  • Injections
  • Wound management
  • Cervical Cytology
  • Health promotion

Organisational

  • To maintain accurate records and data on Treatment Room activities, using the EMIS computer programmes.
  • To work as an effective team member and promote a multi-agency collaborative approach to health care.
