Robertson Neurological Rehabilitation Unit: Specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist (Neuro/Stroke Rehabilitation) B6
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our in-patient neurological rehabilitation service at Willesden Centre for Health and Care. We are looking for a band 6 Occupational therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team and wider MDT at Robertson Neurological Rehabilitation Unit.
This is a service for the rehabilitation of people with Stroke and other neurological conditions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team, who has the passion and skills for delivering, and maintaining in the team, a high standard of specialist neurological rehabilitation.
You will be working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team that includes Physiotherapists, Medical team lead by the Consultant, Clinical Neuropsychologists, Nurses, Dietitian, Rehabilitation Assistants, Speech and Language therapists and Social Workers.

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours a week.
Independently manage a clinical caseload, conducting OT assessments and delivering tailored treatment/management programmes.
To take an active role in discharge planning and order suitable equipment as appropriate and conduct access/visits as necessary.
Collaborate with senior Occupational Therapists and other MDT on complex cases, providing specialised assessments and treatment plans.
Advise and educate patients and carers, ensuring informed consent and compliance with legal frameworks.
Address language barriers and consider cultural diversity in patient care.
Adhere to stroke guidelines and professional standards, continuously updating and evaluating practice.
Manage clinical risk within the caseload and maintain accurate patient records, including electronic systems.
Build strong relationships within the multidisciplinary team; participate in handovers and discharge planning.
Promote patient rights, dignity, and choice at all times.
Delegate tasks to support workers, ensuring accountability for their work.
Communicate effectively with patients and care teams, liaising with hospital and community resources for continuity of care.
Serve as key worker for patients with complex discharge needs.
Use verbal and non-verbal communication tools to support patients with difficulties during rehabilitation.
Represent the Occupational Therapy service in multidisciplinary meetings, integrating intervention into the rehabilitation programme.
