Public Health Wales is looking for a Higher Biomedical Support Worker to join the microbiology team at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen. The role requires candidates to be enthusiastic and innovative, with strong organisational skills and scientific knowledge. Responsibilities include routine laboratory tasks such as quality control, specimen processing, equipment maintenance, and clerical duties, all while adhering to health and safety standards and following established procedures.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Biomedical Scientific staff to support microbiological diagnostic services and will need to work a 37.5-hour week, which may include weekdays, weekends, and unsocial hours. While the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, it is not essential, and applications are welcomed from both Welsh and English speakers.
