Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) for maternity cover in their Liverpool-based Mental Health Support Teams (MHST). In this role, the MHP will provide early, evidence-based interventions for children and young people across various educational, healthcare, and community settings, facilitating access to support in schools. The ideal candidate will have training in IAPT modalities such as CBT, SFP, or IPTA and will engage in direct work with children, families, and education providers, while also potentially supervising Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs).

The MHP will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop intervention plans grounded in behavioral, cognitive, psychodynamic, and systemic approaches, and deliver individual, family, and group therapies as part of integrated care. This position involves case management for complex cases, coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and providing consultation to other professionals. Additionally, the MHP will participate in service development activities, contributing to the overall clinical work and prioritisation of referrals within the team.
