Public Health Wales is seeking a "Trainee BMS/Biomedical Scientist/Specialist Biomedical Scientist" to join their Bacteriology Team at Singleton Hospital in Swansea. Depending on experience, the position may be offered at Band 5 or Band 6. The role involves working with advanced technology to provide rapid diagnostic services, supported by a fully-trained team. Successful candidates will have the opportunity for career advancement, including automatic progression to Band 6 upon completing an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology/Bacteriology and fulfilling training requirements.

Ideal applicants should be enthusiastic, well-organized, and possess strong practical, communication, and teamwork skills. Familiarity with good laboratory practices and ISO15189 quality management is preferred. The role includes contributing to a 24/7 service as per a scheduled rota.
