Band 3: £24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum pro rata  PERMANENT 
Perform caring activities such as preparing patients for their Imaging examinations and caring for patients following examinations, ensuring patients needs, privacy and dignity are met.


Role Summary


  • Actively participate as a member of the Imaging Department team and contribute towards the smooth and efficient running of the Department
  • This is a dynamic, evolving role which will include coordinating the workflow within Imaging modalities, assisting radiographers with patient flow, preparing and positioning equipment and assisting radiographers and radiologists with the positioning of patients for imaging examinations and assisting with patient transfers to and from the wards when required
  • The ability to work with in-patients and out-patients requiring imaging examinations
  • To act a trouble shooter between the multi-disciplinary team to ensure timely imaging
  • Ensure provision of the highest standards of care.
  • Assist the radiographers in giving individualised care to the patients.
  • Perform caring activities such as preparing patients for their Imaging examinations and caring for patients following examinations, ensuring patients needs, privacy and dignity are met
  • Assist the radiographers with the care and preparation of the Imaging equipment, to include ensuring cleanliness of equipment, setting up sterile trollies, preparing contrast media.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties across the department as required, including reception cover, appointment bookings and data entry on all necessary clinical systems.
  • To work 37.5 hours, to include evening and weekend working.

We are recruiting for our new, purpose-built hospital within the site at Royal Sussex County Hospital! The new 'Louisa Martindale' building provides spacious, well-resourced and modern facilities for patients and staff across all 40 wards and departments. The building includes a new 'Welcome space', running the entire length of the building. This will provide ample space for everyone including seating areas and retail outlets.

As part of this development, we have the opportunity to expand our team, recruiting into these brand-new roles.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Senior Imaging Clinical support workers to join our dynamic and friendly team in the Imaging Department.

The successful candidates will be working alongside radiographers and radiologists to ensure the smooth running of the department.

We are looking for hardworking individuals who are both flexible and versatile. You will be a team player, have a positive attitude and be able to work under pressure in challenging conditions. You must have the ability to work with patients for sensitive imaging examinations.

Previous healthcare experience is essential, but we will provide support and training to carry out your duties within the Imaging specialities.

This dynamic and evolving role will include coordinating the workflow in specific Imaging areas, assisting radiographers in the preparation of patients and equipment for imaging examinations, ensuring pre-examination checks and information are available, liaising with wards and porters, assisting with patient transfers and the orientation of patients around the department.
