The role of Senior Staff Nurse in the Children's Emergency Department at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust offers a dynamic opportunity for an experienced individual with strong clinical skills and emergency department (ED) experience. The successful candidate will assume charge of the busy ED on a shift basis, manage the day-to-day flow by ensuring high standards of care for children and their families, and lead the nursing team in the absence of a band 7 nurse.

As a Band 6 nurse, the post holder will provide leadership and be accountable for delivering child and family-focused care without direct supervision while effectively communicating with the multidisciplinary team. The role involves supervising junior staff, contributing to the department's efficient operation, and ensuring patient safety and timely care.

This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
