The Band 8a - Advanced Clinical Pharmacist for Virtual Ward at Whittington Hospital NHS Trust in London is a pivotal role designed to enhance clinical pharmacy services within a virtual ward setting. This position can begin at Band 7, progressing to Band 8a upon completion of an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist course. The pharmacist will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize medication management, ensure safe provision, and improve patient outcomes by managing a caseload of patients requiring complex case management, facilitating early discharge from hospital, and preventing unnecessary admissions.
