The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing medication management and patient care quality across Powys, which may include visiting community hospital wards, departments, and patients in their homes. Additionally, the role provides a unique chance to contribute to the implementation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA). Proficiency in Welsh is desirable, but applicants who speak either English or Welsh are encouraged to apply.
This is a fantastic development opportunity to gain invaluable experience as a clinical pharmacist with the option of studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, if desired. Registered pharmacists currently working in any sector are welcome to apply. The post is a permanent post, up to full time hours and can be flexible in base within North Powys.
You will be working in conjunction with a growing team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and your development will be further supported by the Health Board Medicines Management team and an experienced multidisciplinary workforce, including GPs.
You will be pivotal to the quality of care and operational efficiency, with regard to medicines, across Powys and will travel around one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Your communication, clinical and innovative skills will be used to demonstrate the significant input that pharmacy professionals of all grades have to offer to patient care and multidisciplinary teams.
The role will be based within the Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) community services team and will offer Medicines Management support to designated community hospital wards and departments and community teams, this may include reviewing patients in their own homes.
There is also a unique opportunity to support the implementation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) at PTHB.
