Horizon Healthcare is seeking a Health Care Assistant for their GP surgery in Derby. The role requires a friendly and approachable individual who can perform well under pressure and work as part of a team. Responsibilities include assisting the clinical team with patient care under the supervision of Practice Nurses, performing tasks such as wound care, health checks, blood pressure and ECG readings, venepuncture, and assisting with minor surgeries. Candidates should ideally have experience with SystmOne and in a GP practice setting. The position offers up to 37.5 hours per week, including a minimum of one late shift, with salary based on experience. Note that previous applicants for this position should not reapply.

Horizon Healthcare are looking for a Health Care Assistant who has an approachable manner and is able to work within our friendly team. You will be integral in maintaining the functioning of the practice and be able to work under pressure.

Up to 37.5 hours per week, part time considered. A minimum of one late shift (10:30 18:30) would be required.

Salary dependent on experience

SystmOne experience preferred

GP Practice experience preferred

Working under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurses and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Health Care Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. To be able to work at the main and branch surgery sites.

NHS health checks

Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate
Lifestyle advice
Flu injections
CHD reviews
Fitting and removing of 24 hour BP monitor
Assisting minor surgery / coil fits / implants
Re-stocking of consulting rooms, storage cupboards, etc.
Stock taking
Stock ordering
Vaccine / cold chain storage monitoring and recording
Maintain, clean and check function of appropriate equipment used within the surgery
Long term condition reviews
