The Senior Palliative Care Social Worker at Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care in St Albans is responsible for managing the Social Worker Assistant team within the Inpatient Unit, facilitating discharge planning, and providing comprehensive emotional and practical support to patients and their families. This role serves as a key resource for the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), offering guidance on psychosocial care, safeguarding issues, and contributing to the development of service improvement initiatives.

Additionally, the Senior Social Worker will oversee welfare clinics, manage well-being volunteers, and ensure adequate support coverage while delivering training on safeguarding practices to clinical staff. The role demands advanced social work skills to autonomously assess and implement care plans while fostering collaboration with external organisations and maintaining up-to-date knowledge on relevant policies and regulations. An enhanced DBS check is required due to the nature of the work with both adults and children.
