We are looking for an enthusiastic Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the psychological provision of the Lincoln South Community Mental Health Team in Lincoln. The Community Mental Health Team is located within the Adult Community Mental Health Division and our mission is to provide high quality psychological services to adults who live in Lincoln. To manage a caseload of clients within the psychological resource of the CMHT.
To meet appropriate standards of practice in the quality and timeliness of the service provided, to include meeting the standards defined by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and Lincolnshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust and any other regulatory or professional body as appropriate.
To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for clients, carers, families and groups.
To provide guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT and other agreed psychological therapies
To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of care.
To represent the CBT psychological resource of the CMHT in relationships with other agencies and care providers, and to provide advice and leadership in respect of psychological aspects of client care. Maintaining professional body (BABCP) accreditation and registration and supporting other CBT therapists to achieve this in a timely manner.
To be responsible for implementing a range of CBT psychological assessments and interventions for service users.
Where appropriate, the personal provision of consultancy, support, professional advice and clinical leadership to more junior professionals/trainees, other professions and other agencies caring for adults with mental health difficulties.
Where appropriate, to contribute to supervision and continuing professional development of more junior professionals and trainees.
Maintenance of professional standards, codes of conduct and good clinical governance in the Adult Community Mental Health Division.
To maintain appropriate records, as required by the service and Trust.
Provide individual assessment and therapeutic interventions for cognitive, mental health, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. Therapy may be one to one sessions or group based interventions.
Communicate complex and sensitive information empathically, using language which is appropriate to the client group and takes into account any learning difficulties, special needs.
Apply the knowledge acquired through further CBT and CPD and training on psychological theory to therapy.
Plan and prioritise work effectively in order to combine a clinical caseload with other commitments.
