This post is in the schools speech and language therapy team. He/she will manage a caseload of children and young people with support from the principal therapist SLT. The post holder will provide speech and language therapy to a designated caseload of children with a range of speech, language and communication, eating/drinking difficulties and Special Educational Needs (SEN) attending school settings in and around Harrow.
A significant proportion of these children be Bilingual. He/she will be expected to manage their own caseload with minimal support from a senior therapist. 6. To employ excellent communication skills such as persuasion, motivation andexplanations to encourage/ reassure clients and carers to undertake treatmentprogrammes.
7. To develop negotiation skills in the management of conflict across a range of situations
8. To deal with initial complaints sensitively, avoiding escalation where possible and reportto senior staff.
9. To form productive relationships with others in particular parents/carers who may beunder stress and/or have challenging communication difficulties.
10. To provide clinical reports as per departmental standards.
11. To provide written advice for statutory assessment of special educational needs.
