The role of a Children's Community Learning Disability Nurse within the Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Service (CALDS) at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in Caerleon is a full-time, temporary position created to cover maternity leave until September 2025. The nurse will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists, and will support children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities alongside complex emotional, behavioral, or mental health issues.

Key responsibilities include managing a clinical caseload, conducting assessments, developing person-centered care plans, and contributing to Positive Behavioural Support Plans. The role requires working both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals to deliver intervention programs tailored to the needs of children and young people. Flexibility in responding to changing needs within the team is essential, and while the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, proficiency in either Welsh or English is accepted for applicants.
