The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive and organized Waiting List Officer to join its Ophthalmology Directorate. The primary responsibility of the role is to manage the coordination of the inpatient waiting list service effectively, ensuring that elective surgery targets regarding inpatient waiting times, as well as pre-operative and post-operative processes, are met consistently and timely. Candidates should possess experience in the NHS and a solid understanding of the 18-week Pathway, alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key tasks include the validation of the patient tracking list (PTL), informing clinical teams of any capacity issues related to cancer access and RTT targets, and maintaining accurate patient records for elective admissions. The post holder will be responsible for registering patients on the Inpatient Waiting List within 24 hours of treatment decisions, managing Consultant theatre schedules in accordance with the Trust’s policies, and ensuring the accurate tracking of each patient’s RTT pathway. Additionally, the officer will oversee the monthly validation of the Admitted RTT Validation patient list, focusing on maximizing elective theatre capacity and addressing cancellations appropriately.
