Trainer/Assessor in Substance Misuse (Part-time 0.6wte) with The Alcohol & Drug Service in Hull

The Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS), through Generis, have an exciting opportunity for someone with existing skills in the substance misuse field. The main duties of this role are as follows: Delivering high-quality, reflective, engaging and stimulating training to internal and external learners. Teaching both face-to-face and virtually, using an online training portal for the latter. Assessing learners' progress using a variety of assessment methods. Ensuring that all customers, internally and externally, receive an excellent customer service experience. Supporting the verification process with accreditation bodies, such as Gateway and the Skills Education Group, for training delivered. About us As a Substance Misuse Trainer, as well as those listed in the Job Overview, your duties will include: Teaching a wide range of courses, from Level 1 to 3, as well as at Diploma level. These courses will also range from accredited, standardised courses to more bespoke non-accredited courses. Providing an effective learning environment for all learners, through identification and incorporation of Varied Learning Styles, as well as consideration of additional learning needs and/or disabilities. Positively and motivating learners, enabling them to meet and exceed their potential. Assisting in developing new training programmes and other learning resources. Preparing and delivering programmes of training for other members of staff, internal and external learners, and service users. Working with other members of the generis team to continually evaluate the training programmes offered using Employer, Stakeholder and Learner feedback. Carrying out internal verifications and assessments where appropriate, ensuring all documentation is completed and retained according to internal standards and those of the awarding bodies. Assisting in the accurate completion of documentation, and preparing relevant information for internal/external audits. As you acclimatise to your role, you will have regular one-to-one 'Supervision' sessions with your Line Manager. Through these sessions, you will work together on a personal training and development plan, in line with the ADS Career Map. Additional duties outside of Training include: Adhering to the ADS Equality and Diversity Policy. Ensuring that ADS Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are adhered to. During working hours, ensuring all possible steps are taken to ensure the safety of staff and learners. Familiarising yourself with the ADS Safeguarding Policy in order to safeguard and promote the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and adults. You must know the signs and symptoms of abuse, and what to do if any such concerns are raised. Keeping up to date with developments and new initiatives within the health and social care and substance misuse fields. Assisting in the development of new initiatives and new ways of working.
