Are you an existing band 5 Dietitian looking to develop/broaden your skills or a newly qualified band 5 Dietitian looking for a permanent post that will form an excellent start to your career? If so we have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 permanent post within our acute hospital Dietetic team.
Student Dietitians approaching the end of their training are welcome to apply, tailored employment options are available that will allow new graduates to commence in post as a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner until HCPC registration is received.
You will benefit from the support of a small, friendly team of 18 Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners and administration staff.
This post will provide an excellent grounding in general Dietetics and an opportunity to gain an insight into various specialties across the Trust, including; Stroke, Diabetes, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Surgery, Weight Management and Nutrition Support.
You will provide a service to adult inpatients and outpatients within Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, working closely with the support of a dedicated acute team. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience and training from specialist Dietitians and will receive shadowing experience in other specialist areas within the department.
The post holder will be provided with regular clinical supervision and extensive CPD opportunities and excellent clerical support. The acute role will involve a variety of acute medical and surgical wards as well as an outpatient general clinic at the hospital.
The department supports training to A, B and C placement dietetic students. The post holder will be expected to be involved in the clinical teaching and assessments of students on placement, and training will be provided.
You should be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with good time management skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
