Band 8a: £50,952 to £57,349 a year per annum  PERMANENT 

To manage and promote improvements in data quality across the Trust by working jointly with Care Group Directors & Directors of Operations, IM&T and users of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) to ensure that the Trust has robust systems in place to deliver the highest level of accuracy with regard to data capture, data assignment and data validation.

To lead clinical and operational engagement in investigating, reviewing and resolving DQ issues.

To provide specialist advice to the wider IM&T team ensuring that robust data flows are inherent in IT implementation.

To support the Head of Information in analysing and interpreting complex clinical information and data so that problems with regard to data quality can be rectified.

To act as the lead for issues in relation to the Information Governance Toolkit and any data related audits.

To provide effective line management to a team of analysts responsible for the identification, validation and correction of data supporting PbR and statutory returns.

To support the Trust response to commissioner queries.

To provide specialist advice on data quality and undertake training need assessments for future training programmes.

To ensure the creation, collation, auditing and access to operational policies and procedures for compliance with local and national reporting standards

The Head of Data Quality and Assurance role is fundamental to the success of the Trust's Data Quality and Assurance Strategy and will be responsible for the establishment of a Data Assurance Framework. Leading the data quality and assurance teams, the role will ensure that staff responsible for data entry manage the recording of patient information in accordance with NHS information standards. The role will also manage the data assurance team which is responsible for reviewing key data assets across the organisation in order to provide assurance of their quality and validity

To develop and implement the Trust's Data Quality and Assurance Strategy and the Data Assurance Programme in accordance with both national initiatives and local requirements to improve data quality.

To develop, agree and monitor Data quality indicators and Data quality issues in support of the DQ and assurance strategy.

To assess, prioritise and formulate solutions to DQ issues and negotiate realistic and effective implementation of those actions

To act as the Trust expert in data quality by applying in depth knowledge of internal and external data requirements, data flows and impact.

To ensure the establishment and effective functioning of DQ groups and committees as set out in the DQ strategy
