The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking for two dedicated Consultant Psychiatrists to join their Liaison Psychiatry team in Southampton. These positions involve providing comprehensive care for patients with both mental health issues and physical health conditions in a large acute hospital setting. Applicants may specialize in either Substance Use Disorders or take on a dual role focusing on education within the Liaison Psychiatry team, both offering 8 Programmed Activities (PAs) and the potential to develop interests aligned with various medical specialties.

Role responsibilities include offering clinical leadership and support within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) that operates 24/7 across the hospital’s Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit, and wards. The successful candidates will collaborate with other consultants, undergoing regular training, and working alongside a team of doctors-in-training, nurses, and psychologists, while an administrative team backs their efforts. The roles provide opportunities to further advance in a supportive setting, ensuring high-quality mental health care for hospitalized patients.
