The Alcohol Liaison Nurse Specialist position at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust in Chelmsford is an opportunity to join the Mid Essex STaRS Team, aimed at supporting individuals with alcohol dependency. The role requires a candidate with proven experience in managing alcohol dependence and ideally in Medically Assisted Withdrawal. Key responsibilities include providing expert clinical leadership, ensuring evidence-based practices, offering specialist advice to colleagues, and maintaining accurate patient records. The specialist will also work closely with management to enhance service accessibility for diverse communities and play a pivotal role in training clinical staff on alcohol-related issues.

Additionally, the Alcohol Liaison Nurse will provide interventions for inpatients, support families of affected patients, create effective pathways for alcohol services in acute care settings, and contribute to the overall goal of improving health outcomes for individuals battling alcohol misuse. The position emphasises a collaborative approach, focusing on assessment, referral, and training to enhance the identification and treatment of alcohol-related issues within the hospital environment.
